Some of you might know this already but Shane’s work is sending us on posting again this August.

I know, earlier than expected.

After only two years in Dublin, it is time to pack up everything again, grab the cat and start a new adventure.

Wanna know where we are heading next?

Here is a hint.

Shane will be the Head of the Carribean Office working out of Miami, Florida.

It is a bit mad, to be completely honest, and we haven’t fully grasped that we will soon live in the US again but we are very excited and are very much looking forward to the new adventure.

The plan is to live my best Golden Girls life, channel my inner Ernest Hemingway and make sure Confucius the cat won’t get eaten by an alligator.

But all joking aside, this is a fantastic opportunity for Shane. It’s gonna be busy and he will have to travel a lot, but it’ll look great on his CV.

And what will I do, you wonder?

Ah, you know me. I’ll always find something. It was great working for the Austrian government in Beijing and New York, and though they don’t have an office in Miami, there might be other options with the German, British or Canadian governments. We will see. I’ll keep you posted.

I am also working on writing a second book and couldn’t think of a better place to do that when Key West, the place where Ernest Hemingway wrote some of his most famous novels, is just a two-hour drive away.

So, make sure to schedule in a visit to Miami in the next four years and we will make sure to have a spare guest room ready.

Einige von Euch wissen es schon aber Shanes Arbeit schickt uns im August wieder auf Posten im Auland.

Ich weiss, früher als wir dachten.

Nach nur zwei Jahren in Dublin, ist es wieder Zeit die Klamotten zu packen, den Kater zu schnapper und unser neues Abenteuer zu starten.

Wollt ihr wissen wo es als nächstes hingeht?

Hier ist ein kleiner Tipp.

Shane wird Leiter des Karribischen Büros, welches von Miami in Florida aus arbeitet.

Es ist schon etwas verrückt, um ehrlich zu sein, und wir haben noch nicht so richtig begriffen, dass wir bald schon wieder in den USA leben werden. Aber wir sind total aufgeregt und freuen uns schon sehr auf unser nächstes Abenteuer.

Der Plan ist mein bestes Golden Girls Leben zu leben, meinen inneren Ernest Hemingway zu entdecken und sicherzustellen, dass Konfuzius der Kater nicht von einem Alligator gefressen wird.

Aber alle Scherze ausgenommen, es ist eine fantastische Gelegenheit für Shane. Er wird gut beschäftigt sein und viel reisen müssen aber dieser Posten wird sich sehr gut auf seinem Lebenslauf machen.

Und was werde ich machen, fragt ihr Euch?

Ach, ihr kennt mich. Ich finde immer was. Es war toll für die Österreicher in Peking und in New York zu arbeiten und obwohl sie kein Generalkonsulat in Miami haben, gibt es vielleicht andere Optionen mit dem Deutschen, Britischen oder Kanadischen Generalkonsulat. Wir werden sehen. Ich halte Euch auf dem Laufenden.

Ich schreibe außerdem an einem zweiten Buch und kann mir keinen besseren Ort vorstellen um das zu machen, wenn Key West, wo Ernest Hemingway einige seiner bekanntesten Romane geschrieben hat, nur eine zwei stündige Fahrt entfernt ist.

Also, holt den Kalender raus und plant Euren Trip nach Miami in den nächsten vier Jahren uns wir stellen sicher, dass wir ein extra Gästezimmer haben.
